At Futurism, I explore the intertwined worlds of tech, policy, business, and governance -- touching on everything from energy, transit and computing infrastructure to the novel ways that AI and ubiquitous connected devices are enabling new frontiers of surveillance by states, corporations, and individuals.
My prior work includes bylines on music and politics in Jacobin, Verso and Blue Labyrinths, in addition to publishing sheet music and extensive copy editing work in the field of finance journalism.
I grew up in Michigan, attending Central Michigan University, where I graduated cum laude, as well as Ball State University, where I earned a master of music in orchestral conducting. I now live in Brooklyn, New York, where I read, post, and occasionally critique music with my cat, Ziti. On weekends, you can find me hunched over a cold pint arguing politics with the other transplants.
