"I'm grateful to him for supporting Ukraine with words and deeds."

Walk the Walk

It looks like Tesla CEO Elon Musk is going the distance for the people of Ukraine. After sending Starlink terminals to the country to maintain internet connectivity during Russia's invasion, president Volodymyr Zelensky said on Twitter yesterday that he'd spoken directly with Musk.

"Talked to @elonmusk. I'm grateful to him for supporting Ukraine with words and deeds. Next week we will receive another batch of Starlink systems for destroyed cities. Discussed possible space projects 🚀. But I’ll talk about this after the war," Zelensky said in the tweet pictured below.

It appears as if Musk is planning to send additional terminals to Ukraine and that his aid has facilitated a working relationship with the president that could benefit SpaceX in the near future. His conversation with Zelensky follows days of supporting Ukraine publicly on Twitter and offering advice to officials trying to respond to ongoing disasters.

Keep It Coming

The world has seen many, many versions of Elon Musk. There's the version of Musk that tweeted a Hitler meme. There's the version who goofily charmed viewers by eating a gigantic potato spiral. There's the version of Musk who allegedly leaked information on his own lawyer and the version that promised to keep the ISS aloft if Russia sabotaged it. There are so many versions of Elon Musk it's actually hard to know which one is the real him, and which bits are just trolling.

But this version of Elon Musk, the one who is helping Ukraine, keeping his promises and "saving lives" according to Ukraine's Vice Minister, is the best one. When Musk applies his knowledge, money and power to helping those in need he's the version the world could use a little more of.
