- While electrons have polarity, they also spin in one direction or the other. When they are located inside a material, this spin causes them to congregate at one end or the other, with the neutral spin spot always being at the middle.
- Scientists have now extended this to light. In air, light had no spin. But when it is inside an object it acquires spin, and it's travel through the object is based on that.
- This will allow us to determine the path that light takes through objects with much greater accuracy.
