Nike’s New Cooling Mask Is Like a Heat Sink for Your Brain

7. 28. 15 by Andrew Tieu
  • The Nike Cooling Head functions as a heat sink that holds veins of water close to your face. After doing some strenuous activities in burning hot temperatures, just pull it out of the refrigerator and strap it on.
  • This idea is not a new one, with “ice hats” and Nike’s PreCool Vest already existing since 2004, but Nike feels that the psychological boost of having a clean and sweat-free face post-exercise is a powerful asset.
  • The prototype will be tested by Eaton and Canadian athlete Brianne Thiesen-Eaton. If it proves useful through their summer training, it will become a staple in the Olympic team’s equipment.
