The heavens appear and Earth opens up in a beautiful image called "Divided." It was captured off the coast of Meri-Pori, Finland: a region known for its clear waters, pristine night skies and amazing sunsets.
The dynamics between the clouds, the fog and the starry sky add an extra layer of beauty to an image already packed full of it.
This composite—taken by Mikko Lagerstedt in 2014—was compiled using two exposures: one for the scenery, and another for the stunning nightscape. (See more of his work here.)
