Check Out Microsoft’s Vision of A Future Without Mice and Keyboards

In the future, we may be interacting with our technology in a very different way.

Most of us are still using computers with mice and keyboards (at least of some sort). However, Microsoft researchers envision a world without the need for a mouse or a keyboard.

Researchers Kfir Karmon, Jamie Shotton and Hrvoje Benko want the world of tomorrow to have a technology that only requires hand movements. Want to insert images or quotes in presentations? Just gesture with your hand, and it is done.

Ultimately, the team wants us to be able to use our hands in the digital world just like how we use them in real life—the goal is to allow users to interact with technology using interfaces similar to how we interact to other people.  To that end, they say that they think hand tracking technology should allow technologies to adapt to people, not the other way around, and as the above highlights, they are currently developing a technology that accurately and precisely tracks our natural motion.
