Exhibitionism at the Expo

If ever there was an indication that virtual reality is indeed a growing industry, it would be the development of VR porn.

One booth at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) was getting some steamy buzz. Naughty America is bringing all the sights and sounds of America’s favorite internet pastime to a VR headset near you.

Virtual reality porn is filmed in the first-person POV (point-of-view), putting the viewer in the place of the camera. Think of it as Hardcore Henry with extra emphasis on the “Hardcore.” The audience becomes a virtual voyeur from a perspective that would have previously only been accessible to Professor X. Sound awesome? Well, if you look down, you will find out that you suddenly have a stranger’s parts. If you think that might be something you’d be into, then VR porn might be right up your alley.

Naughty America created a cycle of demo clips where the setting and actors changed. The company even tailored experiences to male and female demographics. As of now, there is no word on the inclusion of same-sex content. They company reported many of their attendees enjoyed the demo, despite the awkwardness of watching porn near thousands of strangers. For those who need their virtual porn to be as life-like as possible, Naughty America boasts their content is available in 4K resolution.

As with most new technology, VR porn could take a little getting used to, especially if you’ve spent most of your (porn-watching) life as an external voyeur. “The adult industry has been under siege by tube sites,” the company’s CIO Ian Paul said. “(With VR), we can raise the bar and get people to subscribe to porn again.”

Naughty America’s content is compatible with all available VR headsets, including Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift, and Samsung VR.
