Crutchfield has been a reliable retailer for consumer technology for almost 50 years, and one of its core values is providing customers with the best deals whenever possible. Right now, the store is offering dozens of discounts on everything from audiophile speakers to the latest wireless earbuds.
We combed through all of the discounts and found three deals that stand out because of the savings and the overall quality of the gadget itself. We still encourage you to check out all of the promotions Crutchfield is currently offering, to see if there’s a specific piece of gear that’ll fit into your budget and audio setup.
A couple of other things to keep in mind while you’re shopping: Crutchfield offers free one or two-day delivery anywhere in the continental United States, so you’ll receive your order quickly. An added plus for sustainability is that the company developed its own starch-based packing peanuts, which will dissolve rather than laying in landfills forever.
House Of Marley Get Together Duo Speakers, $125 ($25 Off)
House Of Marley
House of Marley’s Get Together Duo speakers pair the company’s commitment to sustainability with maintaining its high bar for audio quality. The speakers’ cabinets are made out of bamboo, which regrows quicker than the wood used by other companies, and gives the speakers a natural look. Other components are made from reclaimed organic cotton, reclaimed hemp, recycled plastic bottles, and recycled aluminum.
The powered speakers have their own amplifier, so you can connect them directly into a turntable and listen to analog music. They also feature Bluetooth, so you can stream digital music from your computer, phone, or tablet. One neat feature is that each Get Together Duo speaker can be used as an individual mono speaker in addition to a stereo pair.
The left speaker has a rechargeable battery, so you can take it with you and stream your music anywhere. House of Marley includes a USB-C to USB-A charging cable with the speakers, so you can top up the left one when its battery runs low. The right speaker also functions as a mono speaker, but needs to be plugged into an outlet all the time using the included power cable. This is the only pair of powered speakers we’ve seen that has this particular feature.
House of Marley is one of the few audio companies that cares about music and the environment, which makes its Get Together Duo speakers easy to recommend at their current sale price.
Bose QuietComfort 45 Headphones, $279 ($50 Off)
Bose
Bose’s QuietComfort line of headphones ushered in the era of active noise-cancelling headphones, and its QuietComfort 45s are an excellent value at their current sale price.
The over-ear headphones offer 24 hours of continuous listening with active noise-cancellation turned on, which is more than enough time to get through two trans-atlantic flights without reaching for the included charging cable. If they do conk out, recharging them for 15 minutes will get you three hours of music listening. You also have the option to plug them into your device with a 3.5mm audio cable to avoid using any battery life.
The QuietComfort 45s use six microphones (three in each ear cup) to accurately monitor the sounds around you, and block the ones you don’t want to hear. Similar headphones use one or two microphones per ear, which means their results won’t be as good. Bose says its “full-spectrum noise reduction” is capable of eliminating external noises from the entire frequency range, so they should work well on planes, trains, and when walking outside.
We like the fact that the QuietComfort 45s support multipoint pairing, which means you can connect them to two devices simultaneously. If you’re listening to music on your phone, but need to switch to your computer for a meeting, you won’t have to manually disconnect from one and connect to the other.
If you travel often, or want a pair of headphones that will offer actual all-day battery life, don’t skip out on this deal on the Bose QuietComfort 45s.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Earphones, $199.95 ($100 Off)
Sennheiser
The true wireless headphone space is flooded with great options, but Crutchfield’s deal on Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2s make them the best choice under $200.
That’s due, in large part, to their seven-hour battery life, which is 1.5 hours longer than Apple’s AirPods Pro earbuds last on a single charge. The Momentum True Wireless 2s are also a lot smaller than other true-wireless pairs, so they won’t protrude out of your ears as much. This means you won’t run the risk of the buds getting caught on a hat — or any other object — and getting dislodged. Sennheiser includes four sizes of eartips with these buds, which will also prevent them from falling out of your ears.
The Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds support active noise cancellation, which combined with their long battery life, make them a great choice for travelers or commuters who use public transportation. You can adjust the earbuds’ noise-cancellation settings and EQ (equalization) using Sennheiser’s Smart Control app, which is available on iOS and Android. If you need a premium pair of true wireless earbuds to replace your aging pair, or want to get your first set, Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2s are an excellent choice.
