The Breakthrough

For $159, you can get your own Skarp Laser Razor, which according to the company has many benefits including no scratches, no razor burn, and a close and smooth shave. The razor is made out of machined aluminum and uses "Intense Pulsed Light" to remove hair. One of the prototype issues is that it was only able to cut certain hair colors, but apparently that's been fixed.

The Implications

According to the Kickstarter, the laser is supposed to last for 50,000 hours and won't require water or shaving cream, although it does need a AAA battery. Sure, it's pricey, but razor blades are expensive too.
