Japanese automaker Toyota announces that it will invest $50 million in partnership with Stanford and MIT to help research and develop intelligent vehicle technologies. The aim of this project is to create advanced architectures that will let cars perceive and navigate their surroundings so that the AI can make safe driving decisions.
Autonomous vehicles are on the horizon, but there are still countless uncertainties when it comes to decision-making in complex scenarios. This research is expected to improve upon the AI’s ability to evaluate complex environments and make appropriate decisions.
