VR Porn Is...The Future of Entertainment?
If there could be any indication that virtual reality is indeed a growing industry, it would be the advent of VR porn.
Porn filmmakers from Naughty America know that, sooner or later, everyone will own a VR headset, much like how everyone now owns a smartphone. And so they decided to get on the bandwagon quickly.
To that end, Naughty America created a demo that cycles through a few short clips in which the scenery, scenarios, and co-stars change, but the view pretty much stays the same.
Virtual reality porn movies are ultimately built around a POV (point-of-view) shot, putting the viewer in the place of the camera. The audience can watch the whole film as if they were the ones getting, uh, "serviced." Sound awesome? Well, keep in mind that, if you look down, you find out that you suddenly have a stranger’s...parts.
As TechCrunch's Brian Heater notes, "The effect is already a bit jolting (and, at times nausea-inducing) in standard VR, but all of that really goes next level when you look down and you’ve swapped your bits and bobs with someone else’s."
If you find that utterly sexy, then VR porn might be for you. If not...well, perhaps carry on.
Raising The Bar For Porn Films
They company reported that many of their attendees enjoyed the demo, strange setting and all. For people concerned about resolution, Naughty America said people can also watch VR porn in 4K.
Like most new technology, VR porn could take a little getting used to, especially if you’ve spent most of your (porn-watching) life in voyeuristic fashion.
“The adult industry has been under siege by tube sites,” the company’s CIO Ian Paul said. “(With VR), we can raise the bar and get people to subscribe to porn again. “
