Dimensions are simply the different facets of what we perceive to be reality. We are immediately aware of the three dimensions that surround us on a daily basis – those that define the length, width, and depth of all objects in our universes. Look left, then up, then forward. Now, you should have a pretty good idea of how all of this works, as whatever room you are in will (most definitely) have at least three dimensions.

Beyond these three visible dimensions, scientists believe that there exist many, many more. However, these are beyond the bounds of our perception...or are they?

The theoretical framework of Superstring Theory posits that the universe exists in ten different dimensions. Yes, that's 10 dimensions. These different aspects are what govern the universe, the fundamental forces of nature, and all the elementary particles contained within.

But what would it be like if we experienced a different number of dimensions? Say, one, or five, or maybe even ten? Wonder no longer. This amazing video by Rob Bryanton breaks it down.
