- SpaceVR came up with a camera it calls the Overview One, which is essentially six modified GoPros connected to a custom 3d-printed mount.
- The hope is to send Overview One up to ISS by the end of 2015 and to start livestreaming from space in 2016. SpaceVR hopes to install its camera in ISS’ Cupola module. Eventually, SpaceVR wants to broadcast from the Moon, Mars, and asteroids.
- SpaceVR will launch a Kickstarter in the coming weeks to raise funds. When its product launches, there will be a monthly fee — most likely $10 per month for access to the livestream. It should work on “all VR devices,” so hopefully VR explorers using Google Cardboard or the Samsung Gear VR will be able to dangle in space without buying an expensive single-purpose headset.
