The fact that our education system is flawed is no secret. In fact, the United States has a pretty serious problem with education.

Most of the time, we link this problem to systemic issues in society (economic and class disparity, a poor student/teacher ratio, underfunded schools, teaching to tests instead of just teaching, and on and on). However, another troublesome issue that doesn't receive as much attention is that some of the things students are being taught in classrooms across the country are flat out wrong.

[Mental Floss](<http://mentalfloss.com/>) decided to debunk some of the more common of these inaccuracies and misconceptions that we were likely taught in school. In the [video above](<https://youtu.be/LqaDf2fuUH8>), they tackle everything from ([potentially](<https://futurism.com/the-brontosaurus-might-have-existed-after-all>)) non-existent dinosaurs to the [dark side of the Moon](<https://futurism.com/take-trip-far-side-new-nasa-video-shows-moons-dark-side>), so take seven minutes out of your day to get (re)educated.
