Watch a swarm of 50 military drones controlled by a single person

A team of researchers at the Naval Postgraduate School believes it has set a record for the most drones controlled by a single pilot. The winged drones they used are called Zephyr, and they're custom-built. "We'd like to eventually get with artificial intelligence and swarming is to let the swarms determine what the best course of action should be," the narrator of the video says. "One of the long term goals here at Arsenal, they want to get to a 50 v. 50 air war, where instead of an operator telling each aircraft what to do, they're making their decisions collectively in a way that lets them dogfight on their own." More info is available in New Scientist.
