Before it even hit the production line, Faraday Future's 0-60 acceleration rate has been topped by Tesla Motors. The car company recently unveiled their flagship electric vehicle, the FF91, touting a 0-60 mph time of 2.39 seconds. But with a stroke of genius (and Tesla's Ludicrous Plus mode), they've been able to beat that unbelievable record.

At CES 2017, Faraday Future claimed that they presently had the fastest electric vehicle in production. They even backed up their claim with footage of their FF91 defeating the Tesla Model S in a drag race.

The team at Tesla Racing Channel responded by conducting a live track test using a beefed up Model S P100D sedan, featuring the latest Ludicrous Plus mode update unlocked. The mode soups up a car's battery pack, boosting acceleration and responsiveness. Now, the fastest time rests at 2.389 seconds—a mere millisecond in the rivalry.

Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla, believes the company can get their production model down to 2.34 seconds. But their Model S racer with Ludicrous Plus mode enabled has already beat that, making it to 62 mph at a crushing 2.1 seconds.

Surprisingly, Tesla's Model P100D is only in third place in a line of the world's fastest production vehicles. But their supercars are simply amazing. They're already all-electric (zero harmful emissions), and autonomous (saving lives). Could they soon add to their reputation as being the fastest, too?
