# This Prosthesis Printed Out of Aluminum PLA Was Inspired by a Weightlifting Amputee

- Cameron Norris in conjunction with a whole bunch of other Redditors were able to print an arm out of RepRapper Tech's aluminum-filled PLA.
- The original design was based on HACKberry, an open-source myoelectric prosthetic arm created by a Japanese robotics company.
- The original Redditor ended up not needing the prosthesis but the work on the project continues. Norris hopes the project can become the world's first medical-grade open source prosthesis.
