While Huy Fong Foods, the makers of Sriracha, [warned]() us back in April that issues with the supply of chili peppers may result in a summer-long Sriracha shortage, the internet collectively didn't find out about the arguably life-threatening problem until this week. Unsurprisingly, netizens didn't take the news well. "The apocalypse is nigh," [one Twitter user wrote]() in response to the seriously sucky Sriracha setback. "Getting on my bike and headed straight to H Mart!" In one particularly-viral tweet, one user [shared a photo]() of their Sriracha-laden shopping cart, while another posted a screenshot of them [begging their partner to pick up some bottles]() for the house. ## Muh Supply Chain! As [*CBS* notes](), Huy Fong has not publicly disclosed where it gets its chilis. But droughts in chili-growing regions of North America, like Mexico and hotter parts of the West Coast of the US could be the culprit.
