Review units of the phone [started breaking]() just a single day into testing. First the [*Verge* reported]() that Samsung had delayed the launch in China. And now, [according to the *Wall Street Journal*](), the sale of the device has been delayed "by at least a month" in the United States. Samsung has yet to comment on the delay, which could be a turning point against much-hyped folding phones. ## A Bad Week Last week was not kind to Samsung. Some reviewers peeled off a protective layer — usually a routine move for any new smartphone — breaking the entire display. The *Verge* found a small bulge under its review unit's display, which eventually broke as well. Samsung [released a statement]() in response stating "we will thoroughly inspect these units in person to determine the cause of the matter," adding that "removing the protective layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage.
