The city has just opened the deepest pool in the world, with a record-breaking depth of 196 feet. The Deep Dive Dubai attraction is housed in a massive 16,000 square foot structure and features an "abandoned" underwater city that divers can explore, [*CNN* reports](). It also features an underwater film studio, with a media editing room nearby, and even a working underwater arcade. ![]() "There are so many things it's really not fair to call it a pool," Deep Dive Dubai director Jarrod Jablonski told the broadcaster. Divers can chose between thin wetsuits and swimsuits, as the pool's 14 million liters of fresh water are maintained at a cozy 86 degrees Fahrenheit. ![]() Deep Dive Dubai will open its doors to the public later this year and will also offer courses for both beginners and certified divers. ## Depressurization To ensure that nobody gets lost in the underwater city, 56 cameras ensure that divers are safe at all times. In case of emergencies, up to 12 divers can dip into a highly advanced hyperbaric chamber. The chamber allows divers to slowly acclimatize to surface pressure without running the risk of decompression sickness. A notice posted on the attraction's [website FAQ]() also warns divers against traveling to the top of the Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest tower in the world due to the staggering pressure differential. "Don't visit the top of the skyscraper after diving," the notice reads.
