You'll have to be even more patient if you want to save a buck.

Just over four years following Tesla's unveiling of its brutalist Cybertruck, the company has finally answered some key questions during its incredibly awkward delivery event today.
And judging by the numbers, the odd-looking truck will be eye-wateringly expensive — unless you're willing to wait an indeterminate period for a lower quality model.
A top trim "Cyberbeast" model of the truck, which can accelerate from 0 to 60 in a blistering 2.6 seconds and will allegedly be available as soon as next year, will cost you just under $100,000. A mid-range model called "All-Wheel Drive" will cost $79,990 and have a considerable 340 mile range. The cheapest rear-wheel drive trim of the Cybertruck will cost a relatively affordable $60,990 — except that it won't be ready until 2025, according to the company's website. And with Tesla's penchant for outrageous delays, it could be years before it ever materializes, if it ever does.
In short, the truck is just as unaffordable — and unattainable — as we've come to expect from the carmaker.
Expect Delays
We've long known that the Cybertruck was going to cost substantially more than the $39,900 Musk initially promised back in 2019. A lot has happened since then, with the mercurial CEO slowly realizing that thanks to its unusual shape and materials, it'll cost the company a lot more money to produce them than initially thought.
During Tesla's Q3 earnings call last month, Musk admitted that "we dug our own grave with the Cybertruck."
"Cybertruck’s one of those special products that comes along only once in a long while," he added at the time. "And special products that come along once in a long while are just incredibly difficult to bring to market to reach volume, to be prosperous."
Now, the company has the daunting task of ramping up production for its latest offering yet again, something that has historically proven extremely difficult. And given its unorthodox design, the Cybertruck will presumably pose extraordinary new challenges.
In other words, unless customers are willing to spring for the $100,000 top trim, they'll likely have to wait for quite some time. Even getting their hands on a "Cyberbeast" version could end up proving tricky. Last month, Musk revealed that production volume will only begin no earlier than 2025.
And that's not exactly going to go over well for fans, considering they've already been waiting for over four years.
