SpaceX has just announced that it is delaying the next leg of its hyperloop pod design competition until early next year.

Last year, SpaceX announced a design competition for a hyperloop pod, and 120 teams from all over the world answered its call. After evaluation, the company chose 29 finalists, to move on to the next phase of the competition.

They are now supposed to build three-fourths scale models of their designs and test them on an experimental hyperloop track made by SpaceX. But the dream of seeing their ideas made flesh has been put off, the next leg of the competition moving from August this year to January 2017.

Their website posted the announcement, saying that "We know everyone is really excited to show off their designs, but many have also told us that you'd like more time to refine your designs. We’ve listened to the teams' feedback, and to maximize the number of participating teams, 'Competition Weekend' will be held on January 27-29, 2017,"
