# Soon You Won’t Need to Go to the Doctor’s Office for a Blood Test

- It just received a Department of Health certification, so it can start to be installed in medical centers like those administered by Capital BlueCross and Cleveland Clinic. For now, in Arizona, you can have a Theranos blood test administered in a Walgreens.
- The certification covers the entire Theranos system, and the FDA declared the test just as effective as existing tests earlier this year.
- However, Theranos is controversial: the company hasn't released its methodology (probably for intellectual property reasons) but that means that some scientists are wary that they cannot verify the accuracy of the test for themselves.
