- Alkahest's is one of the more intriguing approaches to memory-robbing Alzheimer's. Most research — and certainly most drugs aimed at commercialization — have focused on interrupting the creation of tangles of amyloid protein or clumps of another protein, called tau.
- Researchers at the Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco, meanwhile, haveaimed at a pathway in which memories are cleaved as a way to halt the disease.
- Experiments with mice in Wyss-Coray's Stanford lab showed that when plasma was transferred from a young mouse to old mouse, the old mice were rejuvenated.
