# Unvaccinated Sarah Palin Just Won’t Stop Spreading COVID

The former governor of Alaska is going rogue once again — and this time, the [noted maverick](<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBzXVHoF-pI>) simply cannot stop going out to restaurants after testing positive for COVID-19.

As [*Mediaite* reports](<https://www.mediaite.com/politics/exclusive-sarah-palin-seen-dining-at-nyc-restaurant-again-two-days-after-covid-diagnosis/>), the unvaccinated onetime VP hopeful has now twice dined at Elio's in Manhattan's Upper East Side — once indoor and once outdoor — since learning she had COVID.

Palin was somehow able to eat indoors at the [infamous upscale eatery](<https://patch.com/new-york/upper-east-side-nyc/ues-restaurants-got-107m-federal-stimulus-see-which-ones>) even though New York City requires people dining indoors to show proof of vaccination. The city has since told *The New York Times* that [Elio's won't be investigated](<https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/25/dining/sarah-palin-covid-restaurant.html>) for allowing the notorious politician to eat at the restaurant while both unvaccinated and positive for COVID — though in [a statement to *Gothamist*](<https://gothamist.com/news/sarah-palin-dined-multiple-restaurants-after-getting-covid>), a City Hall spokesperson urged "any New Yorker who came into contact with Ms. Palin to get tested."

Elio's manager Luca Guaitolini said in his own statement that Palin "returned to the restaurant to apologize for the fracas around her previous visit."

"In accordance with the vaccine mandate and to protect our staff, we seated her outdoors," he added. "We are a restaurant open to the public, and we treat civilians the same."

Along with her two visits to Elio's, Palin also ate outdoors at Campagnola, another Upper East Side Italian place — COVID, apparently, is making her crave pasta — [*Gothamist* confirmed](<https://gothamist.com/news/sarah-palin-dined-multiple-restaurants-after-getting-covid>).

Most, if not all, of the sources for these stories are concerned New Yorkers who snapped photos of Palin as she dined outdoors and, as one woman who spoke to *Gothamist* said, exhibited "such a lack of care for the people around you and the people in New York City."

It would appear that Palin is in New York for her defamation lawsuit against the *Times*, which has been [delayed because she has COVID](<https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/24/business/sarah-palin-covid.html>).

This is not the first time the ex-Alaska governor has gotten COVID or made the news for it. Last march, she announced that she had [contracted the novel coronavirus](<https://people.com/politics/sarah-palin-tests-positive-coronavirus-urges-others-wear-masks/>). Just 10 months ago, her posturing was very different: she urged people to keep wearing masks and take the pandemic seriously.

In December 2021, Palin bragged that she wouldn't be getting the vaccine.

"It’ll be over my dead body that I’ll have to get a shot," Palin told the crowd at AmericaFest 2021, which, yes, is really the festival's actual name. "I will not do that. I won’t do it, and they better not touch my kids either."

Crying sick to get out of court is one thing — but subsequently being photographed out on the town, during a pandemic, while being unvaccinated, is just bad form.
