# NASA Might Have Found an Earth-Like Exoplanet

- Many have speculated that the announcement is that Kepler has found a small, rocky planet in a star's habitable zone -- basically, an Earth alternative.
- From the press release: "Exoplanets, especially small Earth-size worlds, belonged within the realm of science fiction just 21 years ago. Today, and thousands of discoveries later, astronomers are on the cusp of finding something people have dreamed about for thousands of years -- another Earth."
- The news teleconference will take place on Thursday, July 23 at noon Eastern time.
