It’s been four years since [Curiosity](<https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/msl/index.html>) first landed on Mars—and NASA has just released a free game called *[Mars Rover](<http://mars.nasa.gov/gamee-rover/>),* in collaboration with [GAMEE](<https://www.gameeapp.com/#share-it>), in celebration of the fourth anniversary of the rover’s arrival on the Red Planet.

The game lets you drive [Curiosity on your mobile device](<https://futurism.com/nasa-mars-360>) as you navigate Mars, collect samples, and earn points along the way. The player will also search for underground water, just as NASA’s second rover will do when it gets launched in 2020.

Michelle Viotti, manager of Mars public engagement initiatives at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory believes that the game is more than just for mere entertainment. She said [in a statement](<http://phys.org/news/2016-08-nasa-rover-game-curiosity-anniversary.html>), “using social networks, the user can share the fun with friends. The interest that is shared through gameplay also helps us open a door to deeper literacy in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.“

If you want to give it a go, then just [head over the the NASA website](<http://mars.nasa.gov/gamee-rover/>) and see how good your driving skills really are.
