# Magic Leap Brings Your Favorite Star Wars Characters to Life (and it’s amazing)

The [secretive Magic Leap](<https://futurism.com/48-crazy-ideas-coming-from-the-2-billion-stealth-startup-magic-leap>) just let out a few hints as to what's going on in it's southern California base of operations. The development teams are actually incorporating history into their technology...history from a *galaxy far, far away*. Something that's already mysterious and cool just got a whole lot cooler.

Aside from utilizing [mixed reality to trick](<https://www.technologyreview.com/s/534971/magic-leap/>) your brain into believing digital images are truly present right in your room, we can thank a business partnership for making this gem a reality. Ultimately, the development only became possible once we saw a partnership form between Magic Leap and xLab, a division of Lucasfilms. The two companies have come together to have you meet the robots of Star Wars—a childhood dream most of us thought we could never actually experience.

However, don't get too excited just yet. Magic Leap founder Rony Abovitz has never mentioned a release date for his technology, or even whether it will be in the form of a pair of glasses or lenses.
