[Harley-Davidson](<http://www.harley-davidson.com/content/h-d/en_AP/home.html>) is finally getting into the electric vehicle game. The company's latest endeavor is the electric [Project LiveWire](<http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/06/article/project-livewire-harley-electric-motorcycle/>) motorcycle. The catch? It's not coming out for another five years.

It will be an interesting project, as the LiveWire concept can only go 60 miles on a charge (at best). Want to add another onboard battery? It's not quite that simple. The physical characteristics of a motorcycle mean that the LiveWire might not be able to accommodate battery packs without affecting its sleek look or maneuverability.

Despite these potential limitations, the fact that Harley-Davidson is even *considering* breaking into the e-vehicle scene means there is a growing interest in alternative, more eco-friendly forms of transportation.

Fans of the well-known brand will just have to wait and see how the LiveWire stands up.
