# Flying, Shooting Video, Avoiding Trees – This Drone Does it All

[Skydio](<https://www.skydio.com>) has [unveiled](<http://www.slashgear.com/skydio-drone-can-actually-follow-you-while-avoiding-trees-22432753/>) their prototype for a drone capable of simultaneously following a user, shooting video or photos, and navigating complex random environments. That's right, following a bicyclist through a dense forest isn't a problem for your new autonomous adventuring buddy.

The company released a video showing the drone in action. See it at work in the video below:

Skydio's Adam Bry explains, "All the footage is taken from our normal testing. Nothing was staged and it’s all fully autonomous. All of the navigation is done entirely based on a multi-camera array with all computation done onboard on a state of the art mobile CPU."

The done in the video is a prototype, but the company has raised $25 million in funding to continue its work. This tech could one day lead to highly-efficient delivery drones, and could even aid in autonomous search and rescue vehicles.
