Marc Adamus is personally one of my favorite landscape photographers, who is able to capture the spirit of each subject in nature he aims to speak for through his images. I literally have never seen an image of his that is subpar in the slightest. He's certainly one of the best in America at least. In this particular one, the sunset is peeking in through a 200-foot (60-meter) sea tunnel located on the coast of Oregon, allowing him to capture the waters receding through the cavern, back out into the coming night.

His images are taken using a Canon 1Ds Mark III, 16-35 f/2.8. In this case, it was chosen to be the image of the day on Earthshots.org on November 14, 2009.

You can see more of his incredible images here, and on his website at marcadamus.com.
