The nebula pictured above may go by many names—like the Lambda Centauri Nebula or the Angry Bird Nebula—but most commonly, it is called the Running Chicken Nebula (more formally known as IC 2944). Given the number of dust-filled blok globules this region contains, and how these rogue structures resemble various things, it's easy to see why it has so many nicknames.
In this particular image, taken using the 2.2-Meter Telescope's Wide Field Imager, the glowing hydrogen gas and the contrasting lanes of dark dust meet in such a manner that the chicken is pretty obvious. From the ESO:
